We
expect our Molecular Foundry™ to deliver
20
novel, bio-relevant chemotypes* per month. This enables us to rapidly
build a constellation of small, but mutually exclusive, molecule
libraries with stellar diversity. Since chemotype density impacts hit
probability, we aim for the upper limit where:
1 vial = 1 molecule = 1
chemotype = 1 patent = 1 proprietary molecular field
Our compound libraries enable our customers to probe
vast, multiple chemical
spaces with
one manageable sample in their quest for novel therapeutic
agents. They provide
points of entry into patent-free molecular fields,
where unrestricted structural roaming allows for efficient therapeutic
index optimization.
Yet, in our molecule libraries, the power is not to be found in the
numbers, but in the diversity & the biological relevance of each of
its members: these far-reaching exploratory tools stay
deeply rooted
in the biosphere, which ensures that a hit may eventually be
engineered into a safe & efficient medicine.
By raising the bar for output quality while keeping costs under
control, our molecule libraries indeed address
both dynamics behind the
decline in R&D productivity that has been hindering the
pharmaceutical industry.
*chemotype: basic skeleton
or scaffold that provides the structural basis for a patent claim. One
typically cannot go from one chemotype to another by a simple chemical
reaction.
